The Orange Democratic Movement has requested a formal, legally binding pact to structure its current political alliance with President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance. During the International Day of the Girl Child events at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Siaya town, ODM Secretary General Catherine Omanyo announced that a signed contract detailing the partnership conditions needs to be formally submitted to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties.
Omanyo stressed the necessity of a guiding contractual document registered with the political parties office, assuring party affiliates that the alliance stays solid despite outside rumors. She underscored that ODM foundational values must be preserved during this cooperation and encouraged followers to ignore opposition narratives.
Addressing the assembly, she noted that while outside voices will always speculate, partnerships require mutual respect and agreement between UDA and ODM as they support one another. She additionally confirmed that the political vision established by former party leader, the late Raila Odinga, continues forward.
Shifting focus to the occasion’s subject, Omanyoaccompanied by Presidential Adviser Jaoko Oburu and Siaya Community Digital Hub Chief Executive Officer Tabitha Ogutuadvised women and young girls to stay strong and maintain their values.
South East Alego Member of County Assembly Scholastica Mercedes Madowo supported these views by urging young women to ready themselves for challenges outside the classroom. Madowo advised that navigating the outside world demands resilience, clear focus, and fearlessness for women to achieve success given the unique hurdles they face.
