Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has intensified her campaign for the Kiambu governorship, promising to prioritize infrastructure development and expand electricity access as she eyes the county’s leadership in the upcoming 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the launch of the Kimbo-Matangi-ini road in Juja Constituency, an event presided over by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Ms. Ng’ang’a urged the national government to broaden development initiatives to benefit more communities, emphasizing that better roads and reliable power are vital for unlocking local economic potential.
The legislator advocated for the construction of a bridge linking the newly initiated road to adjacent areas such as Ruiru to facilitate smoother movement and accessibility for the public.
She explained that the proposed bridge would significantly enhance connectivity between Juja and Ruiru, thereby paving the way for accelerated regional development.
Addressing power distribution gaps, Ms. Ng’ang’a noted that despite previous electrical installations following talks with Principal Secretary Washira, numerous households continue to lack power connections.
She called upon the Energy Principal Secretary to revisit the region and extend the electrification program to Karimoni and other unreached zones.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that citizens would warmly welcome additional governmental efforts, particularly in completing stalled infrastructure works.
She also expressed optimism regarding the scheduled road constructions, highlighting their role in modernizing local transportation.
Leveraging the platform to drum up support for her gubernatorial bid, the MP received a positive response from locals regarding her 2027 political aspirations.
As one of the prominent figures eyeing the Kiambu seat, her presence at the government-backed infrastructure rollout underscored her strategic positioning in the region.
Additionally, she highlighted the challenges faced by local motorcycle taxi operators, popularly known as boda boda riders, requesting a designated meeting space and financial backing amounting to Sh200,000 for their group.
Her statements highlighted the central role of infrastructure, power supply, and grassroots economic empowerment in the evolving political landscape leading up to 2027.
The well-attended road inauguration united various national and local leaders alongside eager residents who anticipate substantial economic and transport improvements across Juja and its environs.
