Police Seize 415 Litres of Illicit Brew, Arrest 3 in Migori
Awendo, Migori County – November 10, 2025 – The National Police Service (NPS) has seized 415 litres of illegal brews and arrested three suspects in an intelligence-led operation conducted in Awendo, Migori County.
The operation targeted Bongu and Ulunda areas of Awendo Township, recovering 15 litres of Chang’aa and destroying approximately 400 litres of Kangara. The suspects are now in custody awaiting processing and arraignment in court.
The NPS commended community support and reiterated its commitment to protecting public health by combating illegal brews and drugs. Similar operations have been intensified across Kisumu and Nyeri counties to curb drug abuse and illicit alcohol production.
Through sustained intelligence-led operations and community partnerships, the police have vowed to continue disrupting criminal networks and urged the public to report suspicious activities promptly.
