State Beefs Up Security, Warns Criminal Gangs in Kericho
The government has announced a major security enhancement in Kericho County, issuing a stern warning to criminal gangs responsible for a recent surge in violent robberies and attacks. The Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, Dr. Abdi Hassan, declared that security forces have been placed on high alert and will take a zero-tolerance approach towards all lawbreakers. The move comes in response to growing public outcry over incidents of armed muggings, carjackings, and break-ins that have terrorized residents and business owners.

As part of the new measures, a multi-agency security team comprising the police and the Administration Police (AP) has been directed to launch immediate and sustained operations to flush out the gangs from their hideouts. Dr. Hassan stated that undercover officers have also been deployed to gather intelligence on the gang leaders and their networks. The security team is focusing on known crime hotspots within Kericho town and its environs to dismantle the criminal infrastructure.

The Regional Commissioner assured residents of their safety and urged them to collaborate with security agencies by reporting suspicious individuals and activities. He warned the criminals directly, stating that their days are numbered and that they will face the full force of the law. This robust security response aims to restore public confidence and create a safe environment for the socio-economic activities in the tea-rich county to thrive without disruption.
