Elgeyo/Marakwet County Adopts New Law for Peace and Conflict Management

The Elgeyo/Marakwet County Assembly has unanimously approved the Peace Building and Conflict Management Bill, representing a major advancement in promoting unity and resolving conflicts throughout the county.

Introduced by Administration and Justice Committee Chair Hon. Paul Suter, the bill came after widespread public consultation across different regions of the county, where community members provided input on the proposed legislation.

Upon the Governor’s signature, the legislation will officially become the Elgeyo/Marakwet Peace Building and Conflict Management Act of 2026.
