Malindi police in Kilifi are searching for two individuals wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a motorcycle taxi driver during what appears to be an armed robbery.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Hamisi Kazungu Tsuma, who was assaulted during the evening of April 29 in the Furunzi district, approximately seven kilometers from the Malindi Police Station.
Authorities report that Tsuma was discovered outside his residence with critical head trauma and bleeding from his facial orifices. He was transported to Malindi General Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Prior to his passing, the victim informed family members that he had been accosted by two individuals posing as customers, who subsequently escaped with his motorcycle.
Malindi Police Station personnel, along with forensic investigators, examined and secured the crime scene. The remains were transferred to the Malindi General Hospital morgue pending an autopsy.
The incident is under investigation, with law enforcement actively pursuing the perpetrators responsible for the deadly assault. Officers are working to locate the stolen motorcycle.
In an unrelated case, a woman in her thirties was discovered deceased in a residence within Embu North Sub-County. The circumstances surrounding her death are being probed by authorities.
The deceased has been identified as Alice Njeri Wambui, a resident of Ngariama East in Kirinyaga County. She was found unresponsive on a bed at a dwelling in the Kibugu area on Thursday morning.
According to police reports, the woman had visited her partner’s location at approximately 1:00 am on April 30. While at his residence, she reportedly experienced abdominal discomfort.
At approximately 4:00 am, the man transported her to Kibugu Health Centre, where she received medical attention before they returned to his home.
Police indicate that the man later left her resting at the residence and went to a nearby recreational venue. Upon his return, he attempted to rouse her but found her unconscious.
The remains were transported to the Embu Level Five Hospital morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death. Law enforcement has initiated an investigation into the circumstances.
Separately, authorities in Matuga Sub-county, Kwale County, are looking into the death of a 40-year-old male whose body was discovered in an outdoor location within Pungu Similani.
The deceased has been identified as Moi Mdzomba Kasiko, a resident of the Malomani area in Kinango. His body was found on Thursday morning.
Police noted that the body showed no visible external injuries when found. The location was processed by investigators before the remains were transferred to Kwale Hospital mortuary, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
