Police Foil Criminal Plot at Kisii Bus Park

A midnight tip-off from alert residents enabled police to apprehend four individuals at Kisii Bus Park and seize a homemade firearm before any crime could be committed.
Chaos erupted at the transportation hub when the suspects attempted to escape authorities, but officers from Kisii Central Police Station quickly contained the situation and apprehended all four individuals.
According to investigators, the suspects were surprised by the sudden arrival of officers.
“As the officers approached, the suspects tried to scatter in different directions,” police stated in an official release.
“However, the officers successfully contained them and restored order.”
All four suspects were taken into custody during the operation.
Police reports indicate that a search of the individuals revealed a homemade pistol containing a live 9mm round, two knives, a hammer, and various other makeshift weapons suspected to be intended for illicit activities.
The nighttime occurrence alarmed nearby residents, with some expressing appreciation for the rapid police response and the bravery of those who provided information to authorities.
In its official statement, the DCI praised citizens for their attentiveness, noting that the operation was facilitated by “prompt information” from the community.
The organization also reiterated its dedication to public safety, stating that initiatives to identify and eliminate criminal activities would persist.
The detained individuals remain in custody and will likely face charges once police have completed their processing and investigation.
