Wiper Patriotic Front and The Ukombozi Alliance Party Leader and Principal of the United Alternative Government, Dr. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, firmly rejected reported overtures to join President William Ruto’s administration, declaring that he would not participate in what he termed a failed government. Addressing a congregation during a church service at AIC Kyemutheke Church in Kyumvi, Kalonzo Musyoka stated that he had noted reports in newspapers and discussions across broadcast media implying that the administration aimed to incorporate him into the regime. He rebuffed the advances, telling the government “thank you, but no thank you,” and asserting that he refused to align with a struggling leadership. Citing Proverbs 29:2, Kalonzo Musyoka noted that citizens grieve when the wicked govern and celebrate when the righteous hold power. Drawing inspiration from the song Nitarejeshewa, he assured citizens that the nation would experience restoration under the United Alternative Government in Waiting, promising to eradicate corruption, heavy taxation, abductions, and extrajudicial killings. Addressing transport safety, Kalonzo Musyoka lamented the numerous lives lost in recent traffic tragedies along the Mombasa Highway, which claimed the lives of church members and pilgrims. He reiterated his dedication to repairing the highway, promising it would serve as his primary initiative upon attaining the presidency. Kalonzo Musyoka also honored the memory of veteran journalist Kitavi Mutua, disclosing that the late writer had been collaborating with him on his upcoming second autobiography prior to his death. Additionally, he urged devolved governments, specifically in regions vulnerable to snakebites such as Kitui County, to guarantee that every medical center remains fully supplied with antivenom. Kalonzo Musyoka was joined by Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, WPF National Chairman Jamleck Kamau, Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu, Machakos Woman Representative Kamene, Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu, Kibwezi East MP Jessica Mbalu, alongside several other leaders.
