New information has surfaced regarding the circumstances surrounding the killing of a woman in Kilimani who was repeatedly stabbed by her former partner. The victim, identified as Anne Keya, was fatally attacked by her alleged boyfriend in the Kilimani neighborhood of Nairobi on Thursday evening. Her family confirmed her identity at the city mortuary two days after the incident. Anne’s relatives disclosed that the perpetrator had subjected their daughter to harassment for months, dating back to when both were in their home county. The couple initially crossed paths in Kirinyaga, and their relationship has been characterized by threats and recurrent violent episodes. “Anne was residing and working in Kirinyaga. However, this individual expressed intent to harm her in Kerugoya,” Anne’s mother recounted. A colleague of the deceased disclosed that Anne repeatedly reported the suspect’s harassment, financial exploitation, and persistent alcohol consumption, prompting her to vacate their residence after he allegedly threatened her with a knife. “The suspect approached her with a knife before she departed from their home,” the colleague stated. The violence escalated to their workplace, where the assailant arrived armed with a knife and attacked Anne, resulting in her immediate death on Thursday, May 14. “I witnessed the suspect holding a knife. I pulled Anne to move her away. As I was pushing her, I heard a scream,” the colleague added. By this time, Anne had already been stabbed and was experiencing severe bleeding, succumbing to her injuries within minutes at the location. CCTV footage captured Anne attempting to rise to her feet but managing only a few unsteady steps before collapsing and dying from her wounds. The perpetrator is currently detained at Kilimani police station, with investigators having recovered the murder weapon. Anne’s family awaits postmortem examination results scheduled for Monday, May 18, to ascertain the official cause of death while calling for justice for their dear daughter.
