In a separate occurrence, two individuals lost their lives in Kirinyaga County due to a fuel tanker explosion near River Sagana, an event that disrupted transportation along the congested Nairobi-Nyeri Highway.
They were reportedly near or connected to the fuel tanker when it detonated under mysterious conditions Thursday evening.
The explosion claimed their lives instantly, while the incident also created significant traffic delays along the highway as emergency personnel arrived.
Throughout the incident, traffic remained immobilized for over an hour before Sagana traffic police officers came to establish control and reroute drivers.
