Pharmacy candidates nationwide are facing time constraints following an announcement from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board stating that June 2026 pre-registration and enrolment exam applications must be submitted by May 22.
According to a notice sent to candidates, the Board confirmed that both Pre-registration Exams (Stages I and II) and Enrolment Exams (Levels I and II) will take place between June 8 and June 12, 2026.
All candidates must submit their applications via the PPB online services portal prior to the deadline.
The Board has implemented a fully online application process, requiring candidates to access the PPB online services portal, finalize their applications, and choose their preferred examination location before the deadline.
Candidates have been cautioned that examination locations may change and must monitor the portal for updates before the scheduled exam dates, as appearing at the wrong venue could prevent them from taking the examination.
Additionally, each candidate must bring a fully charged computer capable of operating for at least three hours to their examination centre, as the exams will be conducted entirely online without accommodations for unprepared candidates.
Rehearsals will occur on Monday, June 8 at each examination centre, and attendance is compulsory for all candidates, with the Board emphasizing that participation is not optional irrespective of a candidate’s level of preparation.
Mock examinations will also be held to help candidates become familiar with the PPB online examination platform before the actual tests. Unlike the mandatory rehearsals, these mock exams can be completed from home. The Board additionally stated that specific dates will be announced at the appropriate time.
Candidates with disabilities or health conditions that could impact their ability to complete online examinations have been advised to inform the Board promptly in writing, along with relevant medical documentation, to allow sufficient time for appropriate arrangements to be made.
The Board has also indicated that any feedback or inquiries should be submitted through email.
This announcement coincides with ongoing developments in Kenya’s health sector examination framework, where the PPB serves a pivotal function in regulating pharmacy practice and maintaining professional standards nationwide.
For candidates, failing to meet the May 22 deadline could result in waiting for another opportunity to take the exams, which would directly impact their ability to practice pharmacy professionally in Kenya.
