The clergyman lost his life on the evening of Sunday, May 3, 2026, in what investigators now confirm was orchestrated by a previously identified criminal organization.
The Criminal Investigations Directorate has disclosed significant advancements in the inquiry into the assassination of Reverend Julius Ndumia Ngari of PCEA Tabuga Church, Nakuru North Sub-County.
According to the announcement, detectives have “conclusively connected the incident to a well-known criminal group first documented in July 2022,” recognized for violent robberies conducted while wearing security force uniforms.
The DCI disclosed that a weapon employed in the assaults, an L1A1 rifle, was seized by authorities in 2024.
The same organization is suspected of perpetrating a violent theft on May 1, 2026, during which Sh600,000 was moved from a victim’s bank account to mobile numbers linked to the group.
Investigators are also examining “a sequence of violent attacks and robberies within Nakuru County and surrounding areas.”
The DCI stressed that forensic and intelligence-based inquiries continue, noting that “sophisticated forensic assessments, including scientific procedures intended to place the suspects at the crime location, are still underway to construct a solid case for prosecution.”
