Man Dies at Witchdoctor’s Home Seeking Curse Reversal for Adultery

Police in Tseikuru, Kitui County, are investigating a strange incident where a man died at the homestead of a famous witch doctor in Karengeni Village. The death circumstances of Syengo Kimwele remain unclear. According to Assistant Chief Lillian Munanie Mwendwa, the 42-year-old man passed away while attempting to counteract an enchantment placed upon him. A report from the local administrator at Tseikuru Police Station states that Syengo had sought the assistance of the witch doctor (Nthiga Kikunda) to modify a spell supposedly cast on him after he engaged in an affair with his neighbor’s wife. Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered the deceased’s body with his genitals severely swollen. “Local sources indicate the deceased was given seven days to renounce his actions and make amends, but he did not comply with the deadline,” reads a portion of the police report seen by Radio47 Digital. Reports show that the deceased had visited Tseikuru Level IV Hospital for medical treatment on Friday, May 29, but was instructed to go and apologize for committing adultery with his neighbor’s wife.
