The Jubilee Party has confirmed Engineer Wilson Kigwa as their nominee for the impending Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election after completing the party’s internal selection process.

During a Tuesday announcement, the party revealed multiple applications had been submitted by various aspirants throughout the constituency, which the party interpreted as evidence of sustained public trust in the previous administration’s political party.

“Adhering to our party’s constitution, under the direction of the National Elections Board and other relevant party bodies, and after discussions with qualified aspirants, we have chosen Engineer Wilson Kigwa to represent the party in the upcoming by-election,” the announcement stated.

The party asserted its complete readiness for the special election, indicating full preparedness for Jubilee in Ol Kalou.

According to the announcement, Jubilee officials and members will enhance local campaigning efforts across the constituency in the approaching period as the party aims to maintain control of the seat.

“Jubilee Party stands more resilient, concentrated, and equipped than at any previous time. We are thoroughly organized and prepared to connect with the Ol Kalou residents with an inspiring message of progress, advancement, solidarity, and responsible governance,” the party expressed.

The party additionally highlighted that the deceased constituency Member of Parliament had won office under the Jubilee Party banner, emphasizing their dedication to upholding his tradition of advancement and public service.

“It is crucial to acknowledge that the late Honourable Member of Parliament was affiliated with the Jubilee Party, and we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of service, progress, and community-focused leadership that he championed,” the announcement added.

The Ol Kalou by-election is likely to face intense political rivalry as parties prepare for the ballot, viewed as a significant assessment of political sway in the area.

Samuel Muchina Nyagah will represent the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the forthcoming Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election after winning in a highly competitive party selection process conducted last Friday.

Nyagah obtained his provisional certificate upon securing the UDA nomination.

He obtained 3,221 votes to secure the nomination, defeating George Wambugu Kanuri, who received 3,077 votes in the primary contest that involved 10 candidates seeking the majority party’s support.

Former MCA Sammy Ngotho secured the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) nomination prior to the July 16, 2026 by-election.

These candidates will compete for the Ol Kalou parliamentary seat.
