Police in Oyugis Township, Homa Bay County, have apprehended a suspect linked to a phone theft and hacking syndicate following an intelligence-driven operation by local officers.
According to authorities, the individual is considered a prominent figure in a criminal group responsible for mobile phone thefts, illegal device flashing and unlocking, and mobile system manipulation designed to defraud businesses through circumvention or disruption of payment platforms.
The raid resulted in the confiscation of 20 potentially stolen mobile phones, a laptop containing flashing and hacking tools, a CM2 Dongle, and two external hard drives with similar software, along with additional evidence.
The arrested person continues to be held in police custody as investigators proceed with their inquiries and prepare for court proceedings.
