We’ve Dealt with Mulot Sim Swap Fraudsters,’ Says Murkomen
Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has declared that the government has successfully dealt with the notorious Sim swap fraud syndicate that was operating from the Mulot area in Narok County. The CS stated that a sustained security operation has led to the arrest of key suspects and dismantled the networks responsible for the sophisticated financial scams. The syndicate had gained infamy for draining bank accounts through unauthorized Sim card swaps and mobile money fraud.

According to the CS, the multi-agency operation involved detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who tracked the digital footprints and financial transactions of the fraudsters. The crackdown has significantly reduced the incidents of such crimes, restoring confidence in the mobile telecommunications and banking systems. Murkomen credited the success to advanced cyber-forensics and collaboration between security agencies and telecommunication companies.

While declaring a major victory, the CS warned that the government remains vigilant as criminal tactics continue to evolve. He urged the public to protect their personal identification details and to report any suspicious Sim card activity to their service providers and the police immediately. The announcement is expected to bring relief to hundreds of victims in the region who had lost substantial amounts of money to the sophisticated fraud ring.
