KDF Kills 5 Al-Shabaab Terrorists in Lamu Ambush
The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have killed five Al-Shabaab terrorists in a successful ambush in Lamu County. The operation was launched after military intelligence received information about the movement of a terrorist cell planning to stage an attack in the area. The KDF unit laid an ambush, leading to a fierce firefight that resulted in the neutralization of the five militants.
According to a military report, the troops also recovered an assortment of weapons, including AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and explosive-making materials from the slain terrorists. The operation is part of the ongoing multi-agency Linda Boni security initiative designed to flush out militants from their hideouts in the vast Boni Forest and secure the Lamu region.
The KDF has reiterated its commitment to protecting the country’s sovereignty and ensuring the safety of Kenyans. Local administrators have urged residents to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities. The successful ambush is expected to disrupt the militants’ plans and degrade their operational capabilities in the region.
