Four bodies found in shallow graves in Mwingi, Kitui County

Antony Maina, the Mwingi Central OCPD, has verified that four bodies were recovered from shallow graves in a gully close to Mwingi Town.
Maina reported that all the bodies belong to males. They were discovered buried unclothed, with their hands and legs positioned in a folded manner.
Investigations have been initiated, with detectives working to determine the circumstances of the deaths and identify the victims.
The exhumation process was supervised by Kitui County Criminal Investigations Officer Cecilia Mugambi.
Local residents have been encouraged to report any missing family members who might assist in the identification process.
Security personnel have requested public cooperation with investigators by sharing any information that could aid in the investigation.
Authorities have announced that additional searches will be carried out along the gully to check for more bodies in the vicinity.
The remains were transferred to the mortuary at Mwingi level 4 hospital.
