Police Arrest Suspect, Destroy 7,000 Litres of Illicit Brew

A joint security operation led by the Sub-County Police Commander of Kwanza targeted illicit brew production sites at Forkland and surrounding areas in Kwanza Sub-County, Trans Nzoia County.

During the intelligence-led operation, authorities apprehended one individual found with 40 litres of chang’aa. Police also confiscated and destroyed 630 litres of Kangara at the location.

The raid extended to multiple illicit brew dens, resulting in the seizure and destruction of approximately 7,000 litres of illegal alcohol. Officers also recovered metal drums and plastic containers believed to have been used in the brewing process.

Additionally, the security team found various items suspected to be stolen property, including speakers, amplifiers, a generator, an HP laptop, a mixer, water pumps, submersible pumps, a gas cylinder, and an amplifier stand.

The detained suspect remains in custody pending formal court proceedings. Ongoing investigations aim to identify and prosecute all individuals involved in these criminal activities.

The National Police Service reaffirmed its dedication to eliminating illicit brew production and associated crimes that endanger public welfare and security.
