Four people have been confirmed dead with several others injured following a tragic road accident at Tegero along the Narok-Bomet highway.

Narok Police Commander Patrick Lobolia confirmed that the crash involved two vehicles – a lorry traveling from Bomet to Narok and a saloon car heading in the opposite direction.

According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when the lorry veered out of its lane, causing a head-on collision with the approaching saloon car.

The crash was severe, resulting in the immediate deaths of four people at the scene and triggering a quick response from first responders.

Several others were injured, though the exact number has not yet been confirmed.

Following the accident, the deceased were transported to the mortuary at Narok County Referral Hospital, while injured individuals were taken to various healthcare facilities in the area.

Police have initiated investigations into the cause of the crash, while also reminding drivers to be cautious and follow traffic regulations to prevent similar incidents.

The latest incident adds to the number of accidents recorded on this route, particularly on the Narok-Bomet and Narok-Mai Mahiu highways.

This comes just a week after another incident in the Nairegia area on the busy Narok-Mai Mahiu road.

That accident took place on April 26, involving a truck and a van traveling in opposite directions around 5:30pm.

Police reported that the truck, traveling from Narok to Mai Mahiu, lost control upon reaching the accident location, causing the collision.

The truck driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to Narok Teaching and Referral Hospital, where the deceased were also transported.
