Police seized four illegal firearms during an intelligence-driven operation in the Lowangila and Ariemet areas of Isiolo County.
The confiscated weapons included two G3 rifles, one M16 rifle, and one AK-47 rifle, along with four magazines and ammunition.
According to the National Police Service, the operation resulted from a deliberate multi-agency collaboration, noting that the seizure demonstrates the effectiveness of current security measures and the improving partnership between security forces and local communities.
The firearms have been cataloged and secured while awaiting further police action.
This seizure follows an operation in Katilu, Turkana County, where police recovered 26 illegal firearms a day earlier as part of an ongoing peaceful disarmament initiative.
The confiscated items consisted of 21 AK-47 rifles, two M16 rifles, two MK4 firearms, and one G3 rifle.
The NPS credited the success to increasing community cooperation, stating it continues to validate the effectiveness of ongoing awareness campaigns encouraging individuals to surrender illegal weapons.
