State told to curb runaway insecurity in Kisumu

by KenyaPolls

Preliminary investigations suggest that a 27‑year-old man, identified as Dren Onyango, brought the car — reportedly stolen in Kitale — to his homestead in early October. There, with the help of mechanics, he removed its engine and other valuable parts before torching the body and secretly dumping it. Police later recovered the vehicle’s number plates, KBV 866V, discarded in a pit latrine on the suspect’s property — the same registration reported stolen by Geoffrey Kiprop at Kitale Police Station. Onyango is now at large, with detectives intensifying efforts to track him down. The wreck was documented and towed to Mamboleo Police Post yard for further investigation.
