Tharaka Nithi Robbery Suspect Cuts, Seriously Injures Officer
A police officer in Tharaka Nithi County is seriously injured after a robbery suspect he was pursuing turned violent and attacked him with a sharp weapon. The incident occurred during an operation to apprehend a man wanted in connection with a series of robberies in the Marimanti area. As the officer closed in on the suspect, the individual produced a crude weapon and inflicted deep cuts on the officer before fleeing the scene.
The injured officer was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, where he is reported to be in stable but serious condition. A manhunt has been launched for the assailant, who is now facing an additional charge of attempted murder of a police officer. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
The Tharaka Nithi County Police Commander condemned the attack and assured the public that every resource is being deployed to apprehend the fugitive.
