Kinangop Member of Parliament Zac Kwenya Thuku is grieving the passing of his father.

The Jubilee Party MP shared the sad news on Facebook, portraying his father as a cornerstone of his existence.

“Father, you have left this earthly world, now residing eternally with your creator whom you faithfully served,” stated the MP.

“This remarkable soul; my beloved father, my teacher, guide, first preacher and educator, my inspiration and role model,” stated the MP.

Well-wishers inundated the MP’s Facebook post with tributes, recounting how the father influenced their lives during his teaching career.

“I shall forever recall Mr. Thuku Wa Kwenya as our PTA chairman at Muruaki Secondary… during our school years,” shared one supporter.

Another added, “Deeply saddened to hear of my dear friend Mr. Thuku Kwenya’s departure. He stood by me as we worked together to establish Muruaki Secondary School in its early stages. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Meanwhile, political leaders extended their sympathies, stating: “I learned with profound sorrow of the passing of Mzee Kwenya, father to our esteemed Member of Parliament,” shared the Senator.

Continuing, “My heartfelt condolences go to Hon. Kwenya Thuku and his family during this challenging time.”

In the political arena, Zac Kwenya currently serves his second consecutive term, having secured his seat on the Jubilee Party ticket during the 2022 general elections.

After his re-election, Thuku aligned with fellow Jubilee MPs, committing to collaborate with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration in early February 2023.

Zac Kwenya joins the growing list of politicians who have recently lost a parent, having also mourned his mother’s passing on May 5.
