At the opening ceremony, Wamuratha stressed that empowering youth is a cornerstone of her agenda, noting that tangible actions outweigh political pledges.
She was seen engaging the sponsored students during the session.
Wamuratha also announced that over 500 students pursuing plumbing, catering, and hair‑and‑beauty training will soon graduate under comparable projects.
She urged participants to stay cohesive even after training, forming associations and community‑based groups that foster saving and collective progress.
She argued that organised collectives are better positioned to secure funding, government programmes, and business development support.
Wamuratha warned the youth to abandon unrealistic dreams of instant wealth and instead pursue disciplined, incremental savings.
She cautioned young adults to resist manipulation into illegal activities, political violence, or clashes with security forces.
She reminded them that leadership should motivate service and responsibility, not conflict or destruction.
Wamuratha maintained that investing in skills and learning provides a more enduring route to prosperity than disruptive pursuits.
She expressed concern over rising suicides among young men in Kiambu and urged anyone facing difficulties to seek help and share their challenges openly.
She encouraged participants to stay hopeful despite hardships, reminding them that adverse conditions need not dictate their future.
Wamuratha urged them to set ambitious goals, work hard, and believe in themselves, telling them the future can surpass the present.
She highlighted that personal grooming, discipline, and confidence are key for workplace success.
She advised trainees to appear professional in training settings and job interviews, stressing that first impressions often set the tone for opportunities.
In a symbolic act, she supplied shoes and belts to several youths, underscoring the value of self‑respect and confidence.
