A recent GeoPoll survey reveals concerning trends in Kenya’s fuel sector, with most motorists experiencing elevated costs, extended waiting times, and scarcity at service stations nationwide.
The survey, published on May 12, indicates that 58 per cent of participants noted higher-than-usual fuel prices during their most recent petrol station visit.
Additionally, 43 per cent of respondents described encountering substantial queues as drivers competed to obtain available fuel supplies.
Furthermore, 27 per cent of Kenyans discovered stations either completely shut down or completely depleted of stock, while an equivalent percentage mentioned that fuel limitations were in effect at certain locations.
The survey results coincide with increasing public discontent regarding rising fuel expenses and transportation interruptions seen in various regions of the country. The substantial fuel price increases have provoked nationwide demonstrations and substantially affected transportation, business activities, and the general living expenses for numerous families.
