President William Ruto has reaffirmed his support for the inclusive agreement with the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Addressing supporters in Kwale County on Saturday, Ruto explained that the collaboration was designed to promote national unity and guarantee that all Kenyans have a stake in governance and development initiatives.
He further stated that this arrangement has succeeded in bringing Kenyans together and reducing political polarization.
“I reached an understanding with Raila Odinga that we needed to unite Kenyans and establish a comprehensive government that includes all citizens, enabling us to overcome tribalism, animosity, and prejudice,” the President explained.
Ruto called on Kenyans to resist being separated along ethnic or partisan lines, stressing that unity remains essential for the nation’s advancement and security.
In the President’s view, political contests should not result in animosity or isolation among different communities.
The Head of State confirmed that development initiatives and public services will continue to be allocated equitably throughout the nation without bias.
He indicated that the inclusive approach has provided a platform for leaders from various political persuasions to collaborate under a single government for the nation’s welfare.
“All of us, individuals from UDA and ODM, now stand united as one in one government, in one nation, to cooperate for our collective benefit,” Ruto stated.
Ruto also encouraged Kenyans to embrace harmonious coexistence and reject efforts to reignite ethnic conflicts for political advantage.
He asserted that the nation’s advancement depends on political figures and citizens collaborating regardless of their differences.
At the gathering, the President also promised local communities that coastal regions would continue receiving government initiatives focused on enhancing infrastructure, healthcare services, and economic prospects.
In a previous declaration, Ruto highlighted the necessity for the nation to abandon what he described as obsolete and regressive marginalization politics, which he claimed had impeded progress in certain areas.
“The obsolete and regressive marginalization politics that hindered development in sections of our nation, including the Coastal area, have no place in contemporary Kenya,” he remarked.
He mentioned that his government is endeavoring to unite leaders from diverse political factions under the Comprehensive Government structure to reinforce national solidarity and inclusiveness.
Ruto further explained that the agreement aims to eliminate tribalism, political intolerance, divisive ideologies, and discrimination, while mobilizing citizens behind a shared national transformation program.
He stressed that Kenya’s development strategy can only be effective if population members and leaders collaborate across political and ethnic divides, cautioning against attempts to resurrect divisions that impede progress.
