Kenya Power has scheduled a planned power outage on Sunday, November 16, 2025, affecting parts of Nandi and Nyeri counties.
Nandi County: Power will be off from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in areas including Ikuywa, Koibem, Kamelon, George Khaniri, and surrounding customers.
Nyeri County: Power will be off from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in Njoguini Shopping Centre, Njoguini Secondary School, PCEA Njoguini, Thatha Village, Njoguini Villages 2 & 3, Kinaini Village, and adjacent customers.
The outage is part of routine maintenance and system upgrades to improve electricity reliability. Residents and businesses are advised to treat all lines as live during the maintenance period and take necessary safety precautions.
The blackout coincides with ongoing rainfall in some regions, with the Kenya Meteorological Department warning of possible showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the Highlands and Rift Valley. Residents in flood- and landslide-prone areas are urged to remain vigilant.
Kenya Power stressed that the maintenance is necessary to prevent unplanned outages, upgrade the network, and ensure stable electricity supply across the country.
