Odhiambo enters Nairobi Woman Rep race

Siaya Governor James Orengo has announced that former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo will vie for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in the 2027 General Election.

Orengo confirmed Odhiambo’s decision to enter the contest for the influential Nairobi position, saying she will seek the seat in the next election cycle.

The self-proclaimed acting leader of the ODM party described Odhiambo as a fearless champion of justice who stood with Gen Z and peaceful protesters.

He praised her record, saying her firm leadership during difficult moments makes her the right choice to offer Nairobians an incorruptible voice.

Orengo also welcomed Odhiambo into the Linda Mwananchi movement, calling her candidacy a major boost for women’s leadership and the fight for ordinary citizens.

Odhiambo, who earned national respect for her principled tenure as LSK President, is now expected to bring her strong advocacy for accountability and justice into elective politics.

The contest for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in 2027 is already gaining momentum. Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has expressed interest, while activist Maverick Aoko has also announced her candidacy.

The seat is currently held by Esther Passaris, who is serving her third term. Passaris has said she will not seek re-election in 2027.

With several strong contenders now emerging, the key question is who will ultimately take over the seat.
