The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has unveiled complete funding opportunities for individuals seeking to enroll in certificate programs during the 2026/27 academic session.
In a statement released by KMTC Chief Executive Officer Kelly Oluoch on Thursday, May 14, the institution is providing full sponsorship for a certificate in Community Health Nursing, scheduled to begin in September 2026 and continue for 24 months.
According to the announcement, successful candidates will receive comprehensive financial assistance covering the entire period of the program.
“The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in collaboration with the Beyond Zero Initiative is presenting scholarship chances for the Certificate program in Community Health Nursing starting September 2026 during the 2026/2027 academic year,” the statement read in part.
The scholarships, KMTC indicated, represent initiatives to enhance healthcare services at the community level, with preference given to eligible candidates from Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) regions, minority populations with limited services, and other disadvantaged and underrepresented communities.
According to the notice, upon graduation, with female candidates encouraged to apply.
To be eligible, applicants must have achieved a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) average grade of C- (minus) or equivalent qualifications.
They must also possess a minimum of C-(minus) in English or Kiswahili and Biology, along with at least a D+(plus) in either Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
They are also mandated to submit a document explaining why they merit the scholarship and how they plan to serve their communities after completing their studies.
Applications are submitted electronically via the KMTC admissions portal.
