Ng’ang’a and Kogi Investor Vow Women’s Empowerment in Kiambu

In a strong statement of political commitment and economic advocacy, Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has announced her preparedness to govern Kiambu County, offering dual empowerment by coordinating national and county resources to help women overcome poverty.

Addressing a major Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) initiative at Kiambu National Polytechnic, Ng’ang’awho leads the Parliamentary Committee on Social Protectionwas accompanied by wealthy businessman and Kiambu Senate candidate Mr. Kogi, widely recognized as Kogi Investor.

The MP emphasized the transformative impact of the Women Enterprise Fund, referencing Paulina, a Thika mother whose group began with a Ksh 100,000 loan and has expanded to a Ksh 1 million business by engaging in avocado, vegetable, and maize farming across Kiambu and Murang’a. Ng’ang’a informed the enthusiastic audience that women resemble fire, as money given to them reaches households and achieves remarkable outcomes. She pointed out that Kiambu’s repayment rate is impressively high, demonstrating that local women are not merely borrowers but disciplined economic contributors.

Ng’ang’a, increasingly called ‘Mama Simba’ by supporters, clearly indicated her 2027 gubernatorial aspirations during the event. She promised that with her leadership, the county administration would match national resources, ensuring that when the national government allocates funds for women and youth, the county would contribute an equivalent amount. She also committed to creating a special initiative for senior citizens to enable them to have financial security and maintain dignity at home.

The gathering also tackled increasing incidents of violence against women and children with decisive action. Senate candidate Kogi Investor seized the opportunity to strongly condemn perpetrators of Gender-Based Violence. He explained his support for women stems from being raised by one and having his own family, and he demanded an end to the killing of girls and the physical mistreatment of wives. Kogi stressed that women serve as the multiplication engine in society and vowed that if elected Senator, he would ensure the governor allocates dedicated funds for women and elderly residents.

The event, attended by the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary for Gender and Affirmative Action, concluded with the issuance of checks to multiple women’s groups. Ng’ang’a encouraged all present women to value and immediately apply for the available funds. She informed attendees that the partnership between herself and Kogi represents a commitment to household economics and the ‘Bottom-Up’ economic strategy, specifically targeting ordinary women as the main force behind Kiambu’s future growth and security.
