Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has delayed a planned visit by a youth group to his residence in Ichaweri, Gatundu, Kiambu County.
According to a statement from Kanze Dena on Sunday, the Communication Secretary for the office of the 4th president, the visit was not formally communicated and therefore cannot be approved.
“We wish to clarify that President (Rtd) Kenyatta is currently not in a position to host the said group,” the statement noted.
The group was encouraged to communicate in advance to facilitate smooth arrangements prior to any engagements.
Mr. Kenyatta, however, affirmed that he remains open to dialogue with anyone “in a dignified manner that fosters unity and mutual respect.”
“He firmly believes that dialogue between generations is essential for shaping the future of our nation, and he welcomes opportunities for constructive engagement,” the statement added.
