Kajiado County Unveils Ksh. 133.6 Billion Integrated Development Plan 2023–2027

Kajiado, Kenya – The County Government of Kajiado has officially launched its third-generation County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) for 2023–2027, marking a major milestone in the county’s long-term development agenda. The plan, unveiled on November 30, 2023, is designed to guide the county’s annual development plans, budgets, spatial planning, and legislative priorities over the next five years.

Speaking during the launch, county leaders highlighted that the Ksh. 133.6 billion development plan is aligned with national frameworks, including Kenya Vision 2030, the Fourth Medium-Term Plan, and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). It also incorporates international commitments such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the Sendai Framework for disaster risk reduction. The plan emphasizes a sustainable transformation of Kajiado through cross-sectoral strategies and realistic, achievable objectives, with active participation from government institutions, development partners, and local communities.

The CIDP sets clear priorities across sectors, including agriculture, education, healthcare, roads, urban development, trade, and climate change initiatives. Officials stressed that the plan’s success relies on collaborative leadership and the active support of all stakeholders, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and development initiatives are implemented effectively. County Executive leaders thanked the public and partners for their input during consultations, emphasizing that the plan reflects the aspirations of Kajiado residents and aims to drive sustainable growth and inclusive development.
