Nairobi, Kenya – Over 965,500 students who sat the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams are set to learn their results next week, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced on January 3, 2025. The announcement comes amid heightened anticipation across the country, as candidates and parents eagerly await confirmation of academic performance after a nationwide examination season that ran smoothly despite logistical and environmental challenges.
CS Ogamba confirmed that the results will be officially released on Tuesday next week, offering a decisive milestone for students whose performance will influence university placements and future career paths. The 2024 KCSE results will unveil a new chapter for thousands of learners, reminding us that every path forward holds limitless potential, Ogamba said. The 2024 exams involved 965,501 candidates across 10,755 centres nationwide, representing a rise from the 903,138 students who sat the exams in 2023.
The Education Ministry continues to emphasize the integrity of the examination process. Ogamba noted that while exams were largely conducted smoothly, KNEC will ensure thorough verification to minimize errors and detect irregularities. Students and parents are urged to remain patient as results are finalized, with the government committed to a fair, transparent, and credible release process. The upcoming announcement marks a critical moment for learners across Kenya, setting the stage for the final KCSE cycles under the current 8-4-4 system before the transition to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
