Wajir, Kenya – The Wajir County Water and Sewerage Company (WAJWASCO) has announced intensified efforts to enhance operational efficiency and provide reliable access to clean water for residents of Wajir Town. The initiative comes as part of preparations for taking over additional boreholes and addressing frequent service disruptions caused by droughts and equipment breakdowns. The move aligns with directives from Governor Ahmed Abdullahi issued during Jamhuri Day celebrations.

WAJWASCO is prioritizing the sourcing of safe water while implementing measures to ensure its efficient delivery to households across the town. The company is also notifying private water vendors about licensing requirements to improve regulation and service quality. In partnership with the Department of Health, WAJWASCO is enforcing stringent water quality monitoring, with its fully operational laboratory testing water samples regularly. Managing Director Roble Subow emphasized, Our priority is to ensure that the residents of Wajir Town have consistent access to clean and safe water.
