Farmers in Kericho County have welcomed the resumption of government-subsidised fertiliser distribution by the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) after last week’s logistical delays. The fertiliser, priced at Sh 2,500 per 50-kilogramme bag, is now available at the NCPB Kericho depot.
Farmers, who had received electronic vouchers but could not access fertiliser earlier, expressed relief as the distribution proceeds smoothly. Benson Biwott of Ainamoi constituency said, The long rains are about to begin, and we are now ready to plant. Amos Bill from Kipchimchim ward noted that the process was running efficiently.
The national government continues to enhance fertiliser distribution, establish additional depots, and provide extension services to strengthen agricultural value chains, improve production, and increase market access.
