Ruto Rides in World’s Most Exclusive Limousine During Kazakhstan Visit

by KenyaPolls

President William Ruto received royal treatment during his visit to Kazakhstan, with reports confirming the exclusive vehicle transporting him through the country. Analysis of footage shows the Head of State was chauffeured in a black Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Pullman, one of the world’s most exclusive armored limousines. The vehicle transported President Ruto and First Lady Rachael Ruto through the Kazakh capital, accompanied by a police motorcycle escort and displaying the Kenyan national flag. The Pullman represents the longest and most luxurious version of the Mercedes S-Class, measuring approximately 6.5 meters and primarily constructed for Heads of State, royalty, and diplomatic fleets. Its extended cabin includes face-to-face executive seating, a privacy partition, and enhanced sound insulation, while the “Guard” specification incorporates ballistic armor, bullet-resistant glass, and run-flat tires designed to maintain movement during security threats. The vehicle is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine generating around 530 horsepower, sufficient to propel the heavily reinforced vehicle with what reviewers have noted as unexpected agility. Despite its substantial dimensions and weight, the limousine offers smooth acceleration and nearly silent operation, characteristics valued in diplomatic and executive transportation. New models begin at over 500,000 euros, approximately Ksh75 million, before armor and custom installations, with fully armored state versions reportedly costing several million dollars. The “Pullman” designation originates from luxury railway coaches of the 19th century, a reference Mercedes has applied to its chauffeur-driven flagship vehicles. As is standard protocol, host nations arrange transportation for visiting dignitaries, meaning the Kenyan government did not incur costs for President Ruto’s local transport during his Kazakhstan visit. However, concerns have emerged regarding the jet that transported the president from Nairobi to Baku, Azerbaijan, before continuing to Astana and expected to return him home. According to KTN News reports, the private jet secured for the president costs the nation between Ksh2.3 million and Ksh3.2 million per flight hour. The total expense for his journey to Baku and Astana is projected to exceed Ksh532 million.
