PUBG MOBILE Launches Mythology-Themed Update for Kenyan Players

PUBG MOBILE has launched its eagerly awaited Version 4.4 Update, featuring mythology-themed battlegrounds, improved combat capabilities, and enhanced squad functionalities to provide a more engaging experience for gamers in Kenya. The update, active until July 7, 2026, introduces Hero’s Crown, a gameplay mode inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Well-known maps like Erangel, Livik, and Rondo have been redesigned with new combat areas including Yasnaya Polyana, Ruins, Ferry Pier, and Mylta, offering players innovative tactical settings to discover. According to Marketing Manager Jeff Tang, the centerpiece of the new mode is Crown’s Abode, a floating arena where teams compete for survival against Helios, a formidable centaur boss with distinctive combat capabilities. Gamers will encounter various mythological trials emphasizing speed, survival, coordination, and aerial skills, accompanied by Gryphon mini-games that recognize player performance and exploration. ‘Players can now employ the Heart of Fury dash ability for rapid combat movement, deploy the Battle Flag to bolster nearby teammates, and use Wax Wings for aerial navigation across the map,’ Tang explained. He also mentioned the introduction of a new evolving weapon, the Laurel M1 Garand, which transforms visually as players progress through matches. In another distinctive feature, players who defeat Helios can temporarily recruit him as an ally to help in combat and support missions. According to the marketing director, Classic Mode has also undergone significant improvements, featuring the addition of a Roadster convertible vehicle with turbo boost capabilities. ‘The Panzerfaust and JS9 weapons will now appear more frequently across maps, while several weapon balancing adjustments have been implemented to enhance combat consistency,’ he added. The Livik map now includes a redesigned Spawn Island designed to enhance pre-match interaction and enable squads to coordinate more effectively before engaging in battle. PUBG MOBILE has also introduced the Flash Crew system, enabling players to connect with compatible gamers, build Rapport, and unlock collective rewards through improved squad cooperation. The World of Wonder feature has been enhanced with a dedicated lobby, the option to join matches in progress, and upgraded creator tools to facilitate custom map creation and discovery. Seasonal content has also expanded with Metro Royale Chapter 32 introducing a Helios-themed PvE challenge, while Season 30 brings Ranked Arena enhancements, Weekend Joy events, and the return of the popular Dinoground mode. Tang also mentioned that Home Mode has been updated with the Starfall Sanctuary Home Style, Crew Celebration gameplay, Parking Lot improvements, and advanced competitive features.
