Nyambane Commends Nyaribari Chache for Top Registration Performance

Kisii County has achieved 61 percent of its voter registration goal during the ongoing mass enrollment process, as reported by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), revealing significant variations among different constituencies.

Figures presented during an inspection by IEBC Commissioner Francis Oduor indicate that Nyaribari Chache has excelled with 114 percent of its target, exceeding all expectations.

Conversely, Nyaribari Masaba is lagging behind at only 41 percent, making it one of the least performing regions in the county.

These statistics demonstrate inconsistent participation in the registration initiative, despite the commission’s efforts to encourage greater involvement before the 2027 General Election.

During his assessment, Oduor evaluated the advancement of the process and reinforced the commission’s appeal to qualified individuals to register, cautioning that non-registrants will be ineligible to vote in the upcoming election.

In a separate development, Nyaribari Chache parliamentary hopeful Okeng’o Nyambane expressed satisfaction with the response in his area while also encouraging broader involvement.

“I sincerely appreciate the significant number of Nyaribari Chache residents who have come forward to register; this clearly shows your willingness to determine your own destiny through voting,” he stated.

Nyambane appealed to those not yet registered, especially young people and first-time voters, to utilize the current opportunity, emphasizing that their involvement will define the region’s developmental focus.

The IEBC continues its national campaign for registration as it works to expand the voter list and improve participation in areas with low registration rates.
