Kenya Power Explains Process for Reversing Incorrect Electricity Token Purchases

by KenyaPolls

Kenya Power has detailed the procedure customers can use to reverse or redirect funds following accidental electricity token purchases.

The explanation followed a customer’s social media request for assistance, where he revealed he had accidentally used rent money to purchase electricity tokens and requested the transaction be canceled.

“Hello Kenya Power, I purchased tokens instead of paying rent. Can you reverse this payment?” the customer inquired in a post that gained significant online attention.

In response, Kenya Power affirmed that such reversals are indeed possible through proper channels.

The utility company stated that customers wanting to reverse a recent token purchase should download and complete the Prepaid Reallocation Form accessible on their official website.

“To redirect funds or cancel a recent transaction, please download and complete the Prepaid Reallocation Form from our website,” Kenya Power advised.

The company instructed customers to submit the completed form via email along with a scanned copy of their national ID and the transaction details for processing.

Incorrect token purchases are frequent among prepaid electricity customers, particularly with the extensive use of mobile payment platforms, where users might accidentally enter wrong information or process unintended transactions.

Kenya Power has persistently reminded customers to thoroughly check payment details before finalizing transactions to prevent such mistakes.

This guidance benefits those who encounter similar circumstances and need methods to recover or reallocate funds from incorrect token purchases.

The clarification arrives as the utility firm continues enhancing its prepaid electricity payment systems to improve service quality and meter reliability.

Kenyans experiencing token-related issues have been advised to contact Kenya Power through its official social media platforms and communication channels.
