Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged calm and conversation following the deaths of seven individuals in Tseikuru, characterizing the event as sorrowful and concerning.
The Tseikuru incident is heartbreaking, unacceptable, and deeply concerning. Seven lives lost openly is more than just a tragedyit serves as a warning to everyone,” Kalonzo stated.
He warned communities against retaliation, advising them to prioritize tranquility despite their anger and sorrow.
“Retaliatory actions must cease immediately. Revenge cannot restore those we’ve lost. It will only intensify the injuries and propel us deeper into a cycle of violence that helps no one,” he continued.
Kalonzo praised Kitui Governor Julius Malombe and Garissa Governor Nathif Jama Adam for collaborating to find a resolution, along with Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua and Garissa Senator Abdul Haji, who are convening to handle the emergency.
He also encouraged elders from both groups to participate in conversation, emphasizing that enduring peace will emerge through comprehension and guidance at the local level.
“I urge respected elders from both communities to gather, sit, and communicate honestly, because lasting peace will result from conversation, comprehension, and direction at the community level,” he noted.
“I continue to communicate with leaders from both factions, prepared to join them in Mwingi so we can meet with all involved parties and discover a permanent resolution to this crisis.”
