The seventh stop of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series is set for this Saturday at Nanyuki Golf Club, drawing over 100 participants in the latest East Africa region qualifier.
A substantial field of club golfers will compete for spots in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale, scheduled later this year at Karen Country Club.
Competitors at Nanyuki will vie for prestigious titles across various categories such as Overall Gross Champion (Men and Women), Overall Gross Runner-Up (Men and Women), Third and Fourth Best Overall Gross, along with the Junior Winner, demonstrating the tournament’s competitive and inclusive format as it moves across different clubs nationwide.
The Nanyuki tournament follows the Kenya Railway Golf Club qualifier, where Franklin Kipyator and Aisha Duba distinguished themselves as the top performers in a fiercely contested Division I field.
Kipyator secured the Overall Men’s Gross title with an impressive 69 gross, displaying remarkable precision and consistency throughout his round.
In the women’s division, Duba claimed the Overall Women’s Gross title with an 89 gross score, demonstrating steady play to outperform her fellow female competitors.
Nancy Ndung’u, winner of the Overall Women’s title at the Muthaiga leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, received her award from NCBA Kenya Managing Director James Gossip.
Separately, the seventh installment of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Series, the NCBA Winston Churchill 2026, will be held at Thika Sports Club from Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 12.
Eighty golfers will compete for valuable Order of Merit points and a portion of the KES 500,000 prize fund.
Defending champion Elvis Muigua seeks a third straight title after victories in 2024 and 2025, leading a competitive field that also features Isaac Makokha, Michael Warigia, and Maahir Patel, among others.
Addressing both tournaments, NCBA Managing Director John Gachora reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to advancing golf development in Kenya.
The NCBA Golf Series significantly contributes to the sport’s expansion by offering golfers nationwide opportunities to compete and network. We’re heartened by rising participation at each event and anticipate an thrilling weekend in Nanyuki as contestants vie for Grand Finale qualification. Similarly, the sustained momentum of the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship circuit demonstrates the robust talent pool in Kenyan amateur golf, and we’re proud to witness more players excelling at the national level,” Gachora stated.
