Government to Recruit 24,000 More Teachers by January 2026

The national government has committed to hiring an additional 24,000 teachers by January 2026 in a major push to address long‑standing staff shortages in public schools. Education Cabinet Secretary Teachers Service Commission (TSC) says the move follows a historic hiring spree that saw 76,000 educators employed over the last two years, with the expanded recruitment expected to bring the total to 100,000 within three years — the largest teacher recruitment effort in recent history. The recruitment is aimed especially at underserved counties and schools struggling with high student–teacher ratios.
