Governor Kimani Wamatangi has signed the 2025/2026 Supplementary Budget No. I into law on November 6, 2025, following its approval by the County Assembly. The new allocation boosts development expenditure to KSh 10 billion, targeting key infrastructure and social programs across Kiambu’s 12 sub-counties.

Funds will prioritize completion of ongoing hospital projects and equipping them with modern medical facilities, alongside finishing remaining Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) centres. Road infrastructure will also benefit, with tarmacking, cabro-paving, access road rehabilitation, and installation of over 6,000 solar-powered streetlights to improve security and usability.

Education and youth empowerment remain central, with the bursary allocation increased to KSh 750 million, while over KSh 300 million is set aside for youth programs. Agricultural initiatives also receive dedicated funding, supporting food security and farmer livelihoods, reflecting the county’s commitment to inclusive growth under its 2023–2027 County Integrated Development Plan.
