MP Mbai declares Kitui East a no‑go zone for anti‑Ruto politics

by KenyaPolls

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has issued a stern warning, declaring the constituency off-limits to any opposition politics against President William Ruto. Speaking in the presence of Ruto, Mbai emphasized that Kitui East is UDA stronghold territory, cautioning anyone planning to bring anti-Ruto politics to think twice before entering.

Mbai’s remarks underscored his influence in the region and reinforced his loyalty to the ruling party, though he did not specify consequences for those who ignore the warning.

During his tour of Ukambani, President Ruto pledged inclusive development for Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos counties. In Kitui East, he launched the Chuluni–Nzombe–Mwitika road and commissioned the Ithookwe Stadium and the refurbished Kitui Airstrip, projects aimed at improving infrastructure, sports, tourism, and investment potential.

Ruto emphasized that the government will prioritize projects that improve livelihoods and vowed to ensure the Kamba region is not left behind in national development, noting that historically it had lagged due to opposition leadership.
