Turkana County Assembly Mourns Death of Nanam Ward MCA Ekuwam Lomuria

Turkana County is in mourning following the death of Deputy Speaker and Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Nanam Ward, Ekuwam Philip Lomuria, who passed away on Wednesday, June 11, while receiving medical treatment.
Assembly Speaker Charles Lokiyoto confirmed the news, describing Ekuwam as a dedicated leader and mentor whose legacy will continue to inspire the county.
As we mourn his passing, we remember Hon. Ekuwam not only as a leader but as a mentor, a unifier, and a champion of progress. His legacy of selfless service will continue to inspire us all, Speaker Lokiyoto said.
Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai also paid tribute to the late MCA, lauding his leadership, humility, and commitment to public service.
His leadership, humility, and tireless service to his community earned him the respect of many across Turkana, Governor Lomorukai said.
Ekuwam began his political career as a councillor before being elected MCA in the 2013 and 2017 general elections, during which he served as Deputy Speaker. He reclaimed his seat in the 2022 general elections, continuing his service to the people of Nanam Ward.
The county assembly and residents have expressed their condolences to his family and pledged to uphold his vision for community development.
