Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo announced the completion of the Ngong Road‑Naivasha Road flyover. The 800‑metre elevated dual carriageway, built by KURA, is designed to reduce congestion along the busy corridor by separating through‑traffic from vehicles accessing Naivasha and King’ara roads. The announcement comes as the government accelerates transport infrastructure investments to improve mobility in the capital.
The flyover is expected to aid Nairobi’s preparations for major international events, including AFCON 2027, and to enhance access to the Talanta Stadium. Once operational, it should significantly cut travel times between Ngong and the Central Business District and improve connectivity to key urban facilities. PS Omollo said the project will be operational soon, just weeks before the stadium’s completion.
The construction, undertaken by KURA, is fully financed by a Ksh3.58 billion loan from the Spanish Corporate International Fund (FIEM). In February, President William Ruto confirmed that the overpass would be finished by June 2026. The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration supports the project’s delivery through stakeholder coordination, traffic management, public safety oversight, and road safety sensitisation, ensuring the infrastructure delivers its intended benefits while safeguarding motorists, pedestrians and surrounding communities.
