ODM Party has called upon the Chairperson of the National Assembly’s Health Committee, Dr. James Nyikal, to establish a parliamentary investigation into the proposed Ebola quarantine facility. This initiative seeks to prevent what the party describes as misinformation, disinformation, and the politicization of health issues.
This request formed part of seven resolutions adopted by the ODM Party during its gathering at Kirembe grounds in Kisumu.
During the meeting, the party declared that the Luo region will maintain unity under the ODM Party, stating that all interactions with the region must go through the party.
Additionally, the party affirmed that the region fully supports its leadership, as confirmed during the Special NDC and other party structures, and therefore stands behind Party Leader Dr. Oburu Odinga.
The party also stated it will continue seeking power while engaging in a broad-based government. Nevertheless, it urged for the complete execution of the 10-point agenda, with particular emphasis on compensating victims of post-election violence.
ODM acknowledged the significant contributions of the late Raila Odinga and committed to continuing his vision and dedication to democracy.
In its resolutions, ODM noted the current economic difficulties confronting Kenyansespecially the fuel shortagewhile expressing optimism that the government will implement interim measures as the nation awaits resolution of the Middle East conflict.
Concerning the Utumishi Academy incident, the party requested a “prompt assessment” of the progress made in implementing all recommendations from prior committees and commissions responsible for school safety, in an effort to prevent such occurrences in the future.
