The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has announced recruitment for numerous positions in connection with the Ksh170 billion Rironi-Gilgil and Rironi-Maai Mahiu-Naivasha road project.
According to a recruitment notice obtained, the hiring spans three main categories: construction and site works, drivers and plant operators, and technical and support roles.
“China Road and Bridge Corporation Kenya invites qualified candidates to apply for employment opportunities under the Rironi – Gilgil (A8) and Rironi – Maai Mahiu – Naivasha (A8 South) Road Project,” CRBC stated.
For skilled workers, CRBC offers positions for general laborers, masons, steel fixers, formwork carpenters, concrete workers, welders, foremen, and piling workers, providing opportunities for both trained tradespeople and semi-skilled workers.
The company also seeks various drivers and machine operators, including truck drivers, water bowser drivers, oil tanker drivers, crane operators, excavator operators, grader operators, roller operators, bulldozer operators, and other plant machinery specialists for the project.
On the technical side, CRBC requires civil engineers, surveyors, plant and equipment engineers, mechanics, electricians, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) officers and assistants, management support officers, and security personnel.
To be eligible, CRBC requires that candidates be Kenyan citizens residing in Kenya with valid national identification documents.
The corporation also noted that qualified candidates from communities along the project corridor, including Limuru, Maai Mahiu, Naivasha, and Gilgil, have a significantly higher chance of being shortlisted.
“Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Kenya, hold a valid National ID, have relevant experience, and possess valid licenses/certificates where required,” CRBC stated.
“Qualified candidates from communities along the project corridor are encouraged to apply.”
Candidates must prepare their curriculum vitae (CV), relevant certificates or licenses, contact details, and clearly specify the position they are applying for before submitting everything to the company before the May 25 deadline.
CRBC remains one of the most active construction firms in Kenya, having been involved in major construction projects including the 472 km Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway, completed in 2017, and the ongoing Nairobi-Malaba SGR extension.
In road construction, CRBC built the 27.1 km Nairobi Expressway, the Southern and Eastern Bypasses, and sections of the Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau Summit Highway, significantly reducing congestion across the country’s busiest transport routes.
Beyond transportation infrastructure, CRBC is constructing the Bomas International Convention Complex and Mombasa’s 660-meter Likoni Floating Bridge, reinforcing its role in Kenya’s broader development agenda.
