The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has endorsed the upcoming Safaricom Chapa Dimba Season 5, addressing concerns and reinforcing its dedication to youth football advancement nationwide.
In a Wednesday statement, the FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) confirmed its full support for the tournament, following discussions with Safaricom prior to the May 9 launch date.
“The NEC does not oppose the Chapa Dimba tournament launch. Instead, we welcome and value partnerships like Safaricom’s,” the statement emphasized.
The federation highlighted the tournament’s crucial role in developing grassroots talent, building on four previous successful editions that have significantly contributed to youth empowerment and football growth in Kenya.
FKF also disclosed that Safaricom has agreed to a structured post-launch engagement to ensure the competition adheres to the federation’s constitution and approval protocols.
“This approach will guarantee the tournament’s smooth operation… benefiting all stakeholders, particularly the young players nationwide,” FKF noted.
Addressing concerns from various sources, FKF assured current partners, including SportPesa and Azam, that all contractual commitments will be honored.
“The NEC remains dedicated to creating a supportive framework… while maintaining transparency, accountability, and good governance principles,” the statement concluded.
With approval secured, focus now turns to the field as Chapa Dimba Season 5 aims to provide another exciting platform for rising football talent.
